The Apple of China has made inroads in the very competitive market in a matter of months. The company that is known for launching handsets with very good specs and features and pricing them extremely low has tested success in such a short time that other companies can just dream of.
It hasn’t spent a single penny in reaching out to people in the country, nonetheless the cpmpany’s handsets continue to remain viral across the social networking sites and search engines. The company launched three smartphones in the country, the priciest of them all was Xiaomi Mi3. But this handset was priced merely Rs 12999 while its cheapest handset was priced at Rs 5999.
Despite such low price, Xiaomi Redmi 1S came with specs that come with handsets that are priced around Rs 3000 to Rs 4000 higher. What is true about Xiaomi Redmi 1S is also true about other handsets including Redmi Note and Mi3.
Now there are rumors that the company is set to come out with a second generation handset of Redmi 1S. Tenaa, a Chinese website, has come out with images of Redmi 2S. The upcoming handset is coming out or speculated to come out with the same old 4.7-inch display, 8GB internal storage capacity and 8MP rear camera.
The two handsets come with different processors. While the existing Redmi 1S was powered by 1.6GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 SOC processor, the new version is going to come out with 1.2GHz quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. Rumors suggest that Redmi 2S will come with upgraded version of the front-facing camera. It will have 2MP selfie camera in the front. The existing version comes with 1.6MP.
Another improvement is the fact that the new version will run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. However the successor of Redmi 1S in 2015 wil likely run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS. Xiaomi Redmi 1S’ s 8GB onboard storage capacity could be expandable up to 64GB. But, the Redmi 2S users might just be allowed to expand the storage capacity up to 32GB via microSD card.
When it comes to battery, the new handset’s battery will be juicier compared to the present one. Redni 2S will have 2,200mAh battery, which will offer a much longer battery life. Redmi 2S might be light in weight as compared to the Redmi 1S. i.e. Redmi 2S will weigh around 134 grams as compared to 158 grams Redmi 1S.
The 16GB variant of the phone was launched in late-September. The base variant of the new Moto X features plastic back panel and costs Rs 31,999. On the other hand, the models sporting leather and wood finish back panels are priced at Rs 33,999. The company had not announced the 32GB variant of the phone that time.
The Motorola Moto X sports a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920p) AMOLED display. It features a curved metal frame.
