Flying bike prototype
This is a flying Electronic cycle which which works with the help of a remote control.Three Czech companies have raised the bar in the world of cycling after unveiling one that can fly inside an exhibition hall in Prague. The machine was put through its paces during a showcase event this week, taking to the air for a five-minute flight with a test dummy.
Currently controlled remotely, the flying bike’s developers hope it will be capable of carrying people to work in the near future.
Looking like a heavy mountain bike, it weighs 95kg (209lb) and has two battery-power propellers in the front, two in the back and one each on the sides.
Milan Duchek, technical director of Duratec, a bicycle frames maker, says more powerful batteries will eventually be needed.
‘Because the capacity of batteries doubles about every ten years, we can expect that in the future the capacity would be enough for the bike to used for sports, tourism or similar things,’ he said.
