Marilyn Monroe Biography

Marilyn Monroe was a popular American Actress who born on 1-June-1926. In a short time span she became a very big actress, model and singer who just became a significant sex mark. Marilyn acted in many number of commercially successful motion pictures during the years 1950s and early 1960s.

Later she spent much of her childhood days in foster house, Marilyn Monroe began her profession as a model, which later on fetch her a film contract from ‘Twentieth Century Fox’ in 1946. At the beginning of her career in motion pictures were minor roles but later on her performances in the ‘Asphalt Jungle’ and ‘All About Eve’ in 1950 draw people attention towards her acting. In 1952 Marilyn Monroe had her first major role in the movie ‘Don’t Bother to Knock’ and in 1953 she got an offer to play a lead role in ‘Niagara’. Monroe’s foolish and crazy look was used to place a amusing impact in the following films like ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’ in 1953, ‘How to Marry a Millionaire’ in 1953 and ‘The Seven Year Itch’ in the year 1955.

Committed to typecasting, Marilyn studied in Actors Studio to expand her fame. Monroe’s spectacular performance in the movie ‘Bus Stop in 1956 had been praised by the industry experts and gained a Golden Globe nomination. Her new production company, ‘Marilyn Monroe Productions’ released the film “The Prince and the Showgirl” in  1957, for which Monroe obtained BAFTA award nomination and fetched her David di Donatello award. Marilyn Monroe gained a Golden Globe Award for her fantastic performance in the movie “Some Like It Hot” in 1959. Marilyn’s lastly performed film was “The Misfits” in the year 1961, she acted in that film with Clark Gable accomplished by a script written by her then husband, Arthur Miller.

The final days of Marilyn Monroe’s life was filled with sickness, her personal problems and the difficulty towards work and her reliability. The causes for Monroe’s death were stated to be overdose of medicines that acts on central nerve system which is highly noted to be in rumors. Although formally considered as mostly suicide, the chances of accidental overdose of medicine , and also killing or committed suicide, have not been eliminated. In the year of 1999, Marilyn Monroe was placed to be 6th greatest women star of all time by the American Film Institute.

Over many years followed by her death, she had been typically reported as essential American sex symbol and also as a POP cultural icon. In the year 2009, TV Guide Network termed her No.1 in Film’s sexiest women of All Time.

Marilyn Monroe’s Personal life

Marilyn Monroe had three marriages, all of which ended in divorce. The first was to James Dougherty, the second to Joe DiMaggio, and lastly to Arthur Miller. It is claimed she was briefly married to writer Robert “Bob” Slatzer. She is alleged to have had affairs with both John and Robert Kennedy. Marlon Brando, in his autobiography Songs My Mother Taught Me, claimed that he had had a relationship with her, and that they remained friends until her death. She also suffered two miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy during her three marriages.
