Two trains were derailment in Madhyapradesh:
Two trains derailment in Harda, Madhyapradesh on Tuesday. 24 killed and 40 injured in twin trains.
Kamayani express which was stated for Varanasi from Mumbai was derailed near Harda town. After the Janatha Express faced towards Mumbai was derailed at the same spot, 160km distance from state capital Bhopal.
Twenty four bodies including 9 men, 10 women and 5 children have been recovered so far from the mishap site- official said.
According to railway sources seven coaches of kamayani and tree couches plus engine of janatha express were derailed late last night as track material washed away.
“Seven Bogies of kamayani express and tree bogies with engine were derailed In between Khirkiya and Bhirangi stations Bhirangi stations near harda”- Mathur said.
Local people saved lot of passengers. Rescue operations are continuing even several passengers’ feared trapped in water after coaches of both the train plunged into river. 250 passengers were rescued.
Railway minister anil Saxena announced ex-gratia of 2-lakh to family of deceased, 50000 for critically injured and 25000 for injured.
